Twenty persons have died in two road accidents in Bauchi State.

In the first accident, 16 persons were burnt beyond recognition when a Toyota Hummer bus collided with a trailer at Bambal village along Kano-Jama’are highway on Sunday.

Thirty minutes later, four persons died and seven others sustained injuries in another road crash at Duhuwar Kura village, along Azare-Zaki road.

The Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the crashes to newsmen, said the first crash happened at about 7.00pm.

The 18-seater bus collided with a trailer and went up in flames, burning 16 passengers beyond recognition, he said.

Abdullahi said 11 persons were involved in the second incident and the victims were rushed to Federal Medical Centre, Azare, where a medical doctor confirmed four people dead.

He cautioned motorists against over speeding and overloading to avoid road crashes.
