The current political crisis rocking Kano has taken new dimension with the state government’s faction of the APC total submissive and paying homage to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso over the demise of his younger brother.
Kano State Government’s position was well pronounced when Governor Ganduje personally lead his entire cabinet to Senator Kwankwaso’s residence over the condolence.
Political analysts in Kano viewed Ganduje’s swift u-turn to his former boss political enclave as the only option left for him following the apparent emasculation of Kano State APC apparatus from his hand via an Abuja Federal High Court ruling.
Governor Ganduje sensing dangers ahead, swiftly realign with Kwankwasiyya group, his former abode prior to his accession to the hot seat of Governor of Kano State. With this move, the Governor have practically and demonstratively surrenders the entire government machinery to kwankwasiyya movement and is technically preparing safe exit from the ruling APC.
The visit by the Hon. Commissioner for Local Governments and all the 44 LGAs Chairmen is the last stroke that broke the camels back.
In addition, over 200 SSA’s, SA’s and PA’s appointed by the Governor have all gone before Senator Kwankwaso and pay their homage in a clear sign to Abuja of the readiness of Governor Ganduje to dump APC.
The political crisis which enveloped Kano APC and the state government follows an Abuja Federal High Court’s ruling that nullified the Ward and Local Government’s APC Congresses in the State and have generated heated political unease in Kano.
Analysts have predicted a dim prospects for APC in the 2023 elections and is compounded by the apparent defection of Ganduje and state government machinery back to Kwankwasiyya fold, their former political platform.
However, the other faction led by two-time Governor and now Senator Malam Ibrahim Shekarau is gathering momentum public acceptability.
The person recognized by the Court ruling have been enjoying unlimited public confidence as more APC groups and unions are trooping to his office and paying their respective homages to his leadership.
