NSCDC arrests fleeing bandits in Zamfara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) Zamfara State Command has succeeded in the arrest of three fleeing bandits who were compelled to vacate the state following incessant assault on bandits’ camps by the security operatives.

Parading the suspects at the state Command of the NSCDC, state Commandant, Mr. A.A. Sparks, said his men on patrol have successful intercepted the fleeing bandits at Lalan motor park and the state Mass Transit Transport Authority respectively.

The Commandant states that, the first arrested suspect who was identified as Tukur Halilu, has confessed he was a cattle rustler who involved in numerous operations across the state but on the flee to Niger State for his safety.

“According to the arrested cattle rustler, he only used to rustled animals but had never killed anybody in the process, the recent attacks he was involved were on two villages under Nahuce district of Bungudu local government area where they rustled twenty cows”, Commandant Sparks has added.

Similarly, the other arrested bandit was arrested at the state mass transit motorpark identified as Hussaini Altine alongside his brother Abubakar Altine and their biological mother while on the move to join other bandits who already fled to Taraba State.

Mr. Sparks further disclosed that, the fleeing Altine was arrested with a local bullet proof jacket decorated with charms and some other charms in his possession, adding that the arrested bandit has confessed to the Command of his involvement in numerous attacks.

In their confessional statements, both the arrested bandits have listed names of towns and villages in the state been mercilessly attacked where innocent people were killed while others kidnapped for ransom.
