The management of Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has alerted the public of fraudulent activities by some individuals, using the Fund”s name under different guise to swindle unsuspecting persons.

The TETFund Acting Director, Public Affairs, Mr Abdulmumin Oniyangi, gave the warning in a statement on Tuesday, in Abuja.

Oniyangi drew the attention of stakeholders and the public to the alleged fraudulent activities of some faceless individuals who have adopted deceptive methods to defraud the public, especially the students.

The acting director said one of the fraudulent methods adopted by the fraudsters was claim of grants to Nigerian students.

He stressed that the purported claim of grants was being circulated on social media platforms with a link that directs victims to a fraudulent website.

Oniyangi added that there were also claims of recruitment, forgery of special intervention approval letters addressed to heads of beneficiary institutions.

He dissociated the fund from the claims and warned Nigerian students and members of the public not to fall prey in the hands of these faceless individuals.

Oniyangi said that TETFund was never part of the scam and that the entire information was false.

He advised stakeholders, including students of tertiary institutions in Nigeria and the general public to be wary of fraudulent activities in the name of TETFund.

He enjoined the public to visit www.tetfund.gov.ng. for clarification on the activities of TETFund.
