No fewer than 510 staff of BUA Group were awarded a whopping N30 billion during the Night of Excellence and Long Service Award held on Saturday in Lagos.
During the event organized by the BUA conglomerate, 41 of the 510 beneficiaries present received their awards directly from the Chairman.
The on-stage recipients included 16 staff who received N100 million each, nine recipients with N200 million each, seven with N250 million each, three with N500 million each, and five who received N1 billion each.
A special award, whose cash value was not disclosed, was presented to Kabiru Rabiu, Non-Executive Director at BUA Foods PLC and BUA Cement PLC, in recognition of his exceptional loyalty, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the growth of the BUA Group.
Speaking at the event, the Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, CFR, CON, described the occasion as a moment to acknowledge loyalty, resilience, and shared ownership of the BUA journey.
“Today is a very special occasion for me. We are celebrating good service, loyalty, commitment, resilience, and the extraordinary power of faith,” Mr. Rabiu said.
He also reflected on the history of BUA Group since its establishment in 1988, highlighting its growth into one of Nigeria’s leading conglomerates with a market capitalization now in trillions of naira.
Alhaji Abdul Samad emphasized that no amount of money could adequately compensate for decades of dedication, personal sacrifice, and belief in the company’s mission.
“This is not an achievement of one man or capital alone. It is your loyalty and dedication that built this company,” he added.
Rabiu noted that the cash awards were a token of appreciation for employees who have served between 5 and 40 years, reiterating that their commitment remains the foundation of BUA’s success story.
The event was graced by prominent dignitaries including the Chairman of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; the Editor-in-Chief of Premium Times, Musikilu Mojeed; the Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun; and the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, among others.
