Women with disabilities in Kano state are facing significant challenges during their monthly periods, impeding their ability to engage effectively in various endeavors.
In a heartfelt effort to support people with disabilities in Nigeria, the Founder of A.S.A Enable Us Foundation, Prince Ayorinde Stephen Amoko, has taken a significant step by initiating the distribution of sanitary pads to women with disabilities in Kano state.
Recognizing the hardships that individuals with disabilities often endure, A.S.A Enable Us Foundation is committed to enhancing the quality of life for those with disabilities and mental illnesses.
Prince Ayorinde shared that this mission involves advocacy, rehabilitation services, community-based programs, and empowerment initiatives.
Prince Ayorinde emphasized that while people with disabilities often face marginalization in society, this reality shouldn’t deter efforts to advocate for improved opportunities.
Furthermore, Prince Ayorinde’s philanthropic endeavors aim to cover all states in Nigeria without any bias tied to religion or culture.
This initiative marks the second intervention in Kano, and there are plans to extend it to all 44 local government areas for comprehensive coverage.
One of the beneficiaries, Fatima Ahmad, who faces physical challenges, expressed her gratitude for the donated sanitary pads.
She highlighted the economic hardships in the country that have led many to compromise their hygiene due to high market prices. The overarching goal of the initiative is to promote inclusivity, accessibility, and equal opportunities for individuals with special needs in and around Kano State.
Prince Ayorinde concluded, ‘Inshallah, we shall do our best.’ This gesture serves as a beacon of hope, underscoring the importance of supporting those who face unique challenges in their daily lives.
