The Kaduna State Chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), in collaboration with the Kaduna State Ministry of Health, has organized a health walk to raise public awareness on the importance of regular medical check-ups.
Speaking at the event, Barrister Nasiru Musa Tamba, Chairman of AGN Kaduna Chapter, stressed that “health is wealth,” noting that the guild holds the annual health walk every April 12th.
“We are here to demonstrate the importance of good health by checking our blood pressure and sugar levels,” Tamba said.
He added that the initiative aligns with the guild’s commitment to supporting the state’s healthcare sector.
“As actors, good health is essential for our craft. We fully endorse the governor’s health initiatives and encourage everyone to prioritize regular health screenings,” he explained.
Representing the Kaduna State Government, Abubakar Hassan, Director-General of the Kaduna State Health Contributory Management Agency (KADCHMA), commended AGN for its partnership.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to healthcare, citing Governor Uba Sani’s allocation of over 16% of the state’s budget to the sector.
“The governor has upgraded 255 primary healthcare centers, secondary facilities, and tertiary institutions across the state’s 23 local government areas,” Hassan stated.
He urged other organizations to emulate AGN’s efforts in promoting health awareness.
“The well-being of our people is paramount. Development is impossible if citizens are unhealthy. We call on residents to support the governor’s healthcare vision,” he added.
