AGILE Unveils Proactive Safety Measures for Project Implementation

From Abubakar Rabilu, Gombe

The Gombe State Coordinator of the Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project, Dr. Amina Haruna Abdul, has emphasized that safety measures are a key foundation for the smooth implementation of the project across the state.

Dr. Amina made this statement while receiving the Head of Inspection, Inventory, and Enforcement (IIE) from the Gombe State Federal Fire Service in her office.

She noted that the AGILE project is constantly aware of security threats and has put in place robust preventive mechanisms to ensure seamless operations.

As part of these efforts, Dr. Amina revealed that the project is planning to collaborate with the Federal Fire Service to provide further training for the project team and all ad hoc staff on safety techniques, particularly to prevent potential fire incidents in the office.

She emphasized that the AGILE project has zero tolerance for negligence regarding safety and security matters.

In his response, Ahmed Ibrahim, Head of the Inspection, Inventory, and Enforcement unit of the Federal Fire Service, commended the AGILE Project for its proactive approach to safety, including the installation of firefighting equipment in the office.

He confirmed that the equipment had been inspected and was found to be in good condition. However, he recommended periodic inspections and staff training on fire-fighting techniques and stressed the importance of placing the equipment in appropriate locations to protect the office and other valuable assets.

The Environmental Safeguard Officer of the Gombe AGILE Project, Hon. Jabiru Sale Kilawa, accompanied the Fire Service team on a tour of the office to inspect the safety installations.
