Aisha Bura Emerges NAWOJ President

Aisha Ibrahim Bura, representing the Borno State chapter of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), has been elected as the new President of the union.

Her victory came during the union’s 11th triennial delegates’ conference on Saturday, where she triumphed over Mrs. Ladi Bala.

In a closely contested election, Wasilan Ladan emerged as the National Secretary, Lillian Okonkwo as the National Deputy President, and Jamila Abubakar Chinwe secured the position of National Auditor.

The newly elected national executives of NAWOJ were sworn in at the Dr. Maryam Babangida Women Centre in Abuja, the venue of the election.
