Akwa Ibom police boss, Azare welcomes 384 recruits, challenges them on discipline, professionalism

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has received 384 new recruits into the police force with the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare urging them to let discipline and professionalism be the driving force in the discharge of their duties.

CP Azare who officially received the newly recruited constables at the Police Command Headquarters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital, while addressing them at a reception congratulated them on their enlistment into the Nigeria Police Force.

He described their engagement as a call to selfless service and a responsibility to uphold justice and protect lives and property.

The police boss then charged the new recruits to embrace discipline, professionalism, and total obedience to the laws of the land.

He said this would be the foundation of their careers, just as he warned that his Command would not tolerate any act of impunity, misconduct or corrupt act.

The Police Commissioner who used the occasion to emphasize that the era of impunity in the police force was over, reiterated the importance of respecting citizens’ fundamental human rights while carry out their duties.

The tough cop also reminded the recruits of the strict social media policy by the Inspector General of Police, cautioning that anyone found misusing it in ways that tarnish the image of the Force would face dire consequences.

He did not mince words in enjoining the recruits with ulterior motives to reconsider their stance, stating that the Akwa Ibom State Command under his able watch have zero tolerance for corruption and unethical practices.

Azare however encouraged the new entrants to imbibe the values of integrity, transparency, and accountability as they begin their journey in policing Akwa Ibom state.

The Command, in the meantime has again assured the general public of its resolute determination to maintain law and order while strengthening community trust through professional policing of the state.
