The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Plateau State Chapter has commended the Executive Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government, Hon. Christopher Audu Manship, on his infrastructural development projects and remarkable efforts in ensuring peace and stability in the area.
The ALGON’s delegation which was led by its Chairman, Hon. Hamisu Anani, made the commendation during the 17 local government peer review tour, which commenced in Qua’an-Pan Local Government, aimed at strengthening unity for development, fostering collaboration among local governments, and addressing critical governance and development gaps across the the state.
Hon. Hamisu Anani, who is also the Chairman of Wase Local Government Council, while speaking earlier at the Long Pan Palace during their visit to the traditional councils outlined the purpose of the initiative to the traditional rulers, describing them as the custodians of the land.
Responding on behalf of the traditional rulers, the Acting Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Traditional Council, HRH Engr. Safiyanu Allahnanan II, commended the ALGON for their initiative, which he tagged as innovative and acknowledged the Council Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government for his developmental projects in the local government.
He noted that “The Time Is Now” administration’s developmental agenda of Plateau State Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is fully implemented in Qua’an-Pan.
Also, the Long Kwo, HRH Ambassador Yahaya Kwande Kwalgurum, called on ALGON to always identify with the grassroots, stating that it will bridge the gap of governance.
Responding, Hon. Manship expressed gratitude to the traditional rulers of Qua’an-Pan for their prompt action whenever they are needed, which he described as a testament to their role as the advisory arm of the government. He thanked the ALGON for choosing Qua’an-Pan first to start the peer review tour, which he said it honors him and the entire people of Qua’an-Pan.
Thereafter, the ALGON headed to the Local Government Council Secretariat, where they interacted with the legislators, members of the Executive Council, and party officials to foster collaboration within the legislative arm and the executive.
Speaking earlier in the Legislative Chamber, Ba’ap, the ALGON Chairman, charged the legislators and all appointees of the government to join forces in enhancing governance, stating that the success of the government depends on them. He called on them to always represent the government of “The Time Is Now” administration in their respective wards for the preparations of the 2027 elections.
Speaking on behalf of the legislators, the Councilor representing Kwalla Moeda Ward, Hon. Diyelong Johnson Swarwul, thanked the ALGON for their thoughtful gesture in collaborating with the lawmakers to strengthen governance.
He commended the Chairman of Qua’an-Pan for his leadership in driving development and maintaining peace and order in the local government, which he described as exemplary.
Also speaking, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman of Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area, Alh. Lawal Barry, described the peer review tour as beneficial to the party.
He commended the Council Chairman for his continuous support to the party by providing handsome monthly welfare to the party executives and the donation of motorcycles and a car, stating that it will ease their movement during the 2027 general election in the local government. Alh. Barry urged all members of the party to work together for the progress of the party.
Responding, the Chairman welcomed the legislators, members of the Executive, and the party for honoring the invitation, noting that it signifies unity.
The Chairman reiterated his administration’s commitment to good governance in the local government and pledged to fix any issues brought to his attention. He charged the legislators and all appointees to be ambassadors of “The Time Is Now” in their respective wards and polling units for the victory of Governor Mutfwang ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Chairman further expressed his profound gratitude to Governor Mutfwang for his unwavering support and commitment to the development of Qua’an-Pan Local Government, which has brought immense joy and satisfaction to the people.
As part of the visit, the ALGON team embarked on a tour of various project sites within the local government headquarters, including the Long Pan Palace, Snake Bite Clinic, and the ongoing construction of a bridge linking Doemak Market to Bwall Road and other communities.
