AMG Foundation offers free health insurance coverage to 200 vulnerable people

The Aminu Magashi Garba Foundation (AMGF) has announced its commitment to sponsor free health insurance coverage for 200 vulnerable individuals in Kano State under the state health insurance scheme.

This significant step toward improving healthcare access for vulnerable populations in the state, was announced by the Chairman of the foundation, Dr Aminu Magashi Garba.

The announcement was made during an advocacy visit by the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) and the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) to the AMG Foundation Office in Kano last Wednesday.

Health Reporters Newspaper reports that the meeting was a collaborative dialogue aimed at strengthening partnership for increased investment in the state’s healthcare system.

During the engagement, Dr Maimashi Musbahu, delivered a compelling presentation on the importance of investing in the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Scheme, emphasising its role in expanding coverage to the underserved.

Chair of the AMG Foundation, Dr Magashi, reaffirmed the foundation’s dedication to supporting initiatives that promote Universal Health Coverage (UHC) and equitable healthcare access.

Our correspondent reports that during the visit, the Executive Secretary of the KSCHMA, Dr Rahila Mukhtar announced Dr Aminu Magashi as an Ambassador of KSCHMA.

The Director Administration and General Services at the agency, who made the agency, announced that an investiture ceremony of the Ambassador conferred on Dr Magashi would take place soon.

Also speaking, representatives from CHAI commended AMG Foundation’s continuous support in advancing health systems in the state.

The initiative marks another milestone in the AMG Foundation’s mission to support sustainable healthcare delivery for the most vulnerable communities.
