Yobe State Government has Tuesday deployed 149 senior civil servants for specialized training at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON) in Lagos.
The initiative,described as the largest single deployment in the state’s history, was announced during a farewell ceremony in Damaturu.
Acting Head of Service, Abdullahi Musa Shehu, represented by Permanent Secretary Alhaji Abbas Isa Bizi,stated that the training underscores the state’s investment in its workforce.
He commended the participants, who include Board Directors, Board Secretaries, and other senior staff, for their commitment to professional development.
“The government is not just sending you off to a training program,it is indeed investing in the future of the state,” Bizi stated, conveying the Head of Service’s message.
He highlighted the unwavering commitment of Governor Mai Mala Buni to building a capable and effective civil service.
The Yobe State Focal Person on Training, Ibrahim Bulama Yusuf, detailed a significant financial package approved for the participants.
“The government will also cover all registration fees and incidental costs like breakfast and tea breaks at ASCON.
“The total investment in allowances alone amounts to over ₦66 million for the 48 two-week participants and approximately ₦34 million for the 33 one-week participants, underscoring the scale of the government’s commitment.
Officials expressed confidence that the knowledge and skills acquired will directly enhance the efficiency of the state’s civil service and contribute to achieving the administration’s development goals.
