In a statement made on Tuesday, May 23, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his lack of distress regarding the impending inauguration of Bola Tinubu as the incoming president on May 29.
Tinubu’s swearing-in will take place before the conclusion of ongoing petitions aiming to challenge Atiku’s victory in the Saturday, February 25 poll.
Atiku, a former vice president, expressed his optimism about reclaiming his mandate through the judicial process.
Speaking through his lead counsel, Chris Uche (SAN), Atiku addressed the matter shortly after the Presidential Election Petition Court (PEPC) session at the Court of Appeal in Abuja, as reported by Vanguard.
The PDP candidate affirmed his belief in eventually reclaiming his mandate through the court proceedings, remaining unperturbed by Tinubu’s impending assumption of the presidency.
