Bauchi Governor loses mother in-law

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, on Monday, lost his mother in-law, Hajiya Fatima Usman Aliyu.

Late Aliyu popularly called “Hajiya Dada” is the mother of Hajiya Aishatu Bala Mohammed, the first wife of the governor.

This is contained in a statement in Bauchi by Alhaji Mukhtar Gidado, the Special Adviser to the governor on Media and Publicity.

Gidado said that Aliyu, 75, died in the early hours of Monday, at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, after a protracted illness.

She is survived by many sons and daughters among whom were the Bauchi State First Lady , Aishatu Bala Mohammed, Alhaji Danjuma Aliyu, Alhaji Umaru Aliyu, and Nasiru Barde.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Aliyu was buried after the funeral prayer attended by the Emirs of Bauchi and Dass, Alhaji Rulwanu Suleiman Adamu and Alhaji Usman Othman as well as other top government functionaries. (NAN)
