They’re forging ahead, driven by their aspirations, and creating niches for themselves in the world of radio and TV broadcasting.

Under the spotlight today are two friends and colleagues at Hikima Radio and TV in Kano – Zainab Namadi Haruna and Fatima Mohammed. Like two seeds in a pod, they’ve formed a formidable partnership, striving for collective achievements in their profession.

Destiny brought them together at Hikima Radio and TV after they left their springboard station, Express FM, Kano.

Zainab Namadi Haruna, a graduate of Bayero University, Kano, is a multifaceted media personality – a news manager, editor, program producer, and newscaster. With her fluidity, fluency, and phonetic precision, she effortlessly connects with her audience.

Her stylish hand gestures while reporting attest to her conviction that journalism is about more than just informing and educating; it’s about driving impactful change.

While Fatima Mohammed, a product of Kano State Polytechnic, boasts expertise in news presentation and audio non-linear editing.

As a skilled translator, she brings clarity and linguistic accuracy to her work, transforming English scripts into captivating Hausa news bulletins with a Midas touch.

The Hausa proverb says, “Duk Wanda yabi Hanyar Gari, Watarana Zai Isa” – “Whoever treks on the right path to the town will sooner rather than later arrive at their destination.”
