President Muhammadu Buhari and his family have recently taken up residence in the Glass House located within the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Their move comes in anticipation of the inauguration of the president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a video posted on her official Instagram page, First Lady Aisha Buhari shared the news and documented her tour of the State House with the incoming First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

During the visit, Aisha familiarized Oluremi with the different sections of the house.

Expressing her desire for the tradition to continue, Aisha emphasized the importance of the Glass House as a transitional residence for outgoing presidents. She urged future administrations to maintain this practice until transitions are completed.

Aisha remarked, “I have shown the incoming First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, around. We have visited the main house, and now we are at the renowned Glass House. The Glass House serves as a temporary home for the outgoing president.”

“I suggest that the Glass House should continue its tradition of accommodating the outgoing president. Currently, my husband and I reside here. It is just the two of us, and I believe it should remain so as a customary aspect of the institution and the house,” she added.

Upon completing the tour, Oluremi expressed her gratitude for the opportunity and acknowledged the generosity of her host, Aisha, the President’s wife.

Overwhelmed by the experience, she shared, “I have completed the tour, and she has graciously shown me around the house. She explained many things to me in a short amount of time, which is quite overwhelming”

“However, I have faith that God will assist me in making a meaningful contribution to our nation.” She said.
