Christmas in Nigeria: ACF Calls for Empathy, Love, and Truth

From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna

The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has extended its warmest wishes to Christians in Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of Christmas 2025, and a happy and prosperous New Year 2026.

In a statement signed by Professor Tukur A. Muhammad-Baba, National Publicity Secretary of ACF, the organization prayed for a return to peace, prosperity, and progress in Nigeria, amidst the current economic, social, and political challenges facing the country.

The statement read: “This year’s Christmas is coming at a time when many families are struggling for survival as it remains disturbing that millions of individuals and communities, especially in the North, have had to be contending with the burden of the challenges, with many in dire conditions.”

ACF urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders, temporal and spiritual, at all levels, and indeed the citizens, to be endowed with the wisdom of empathy and love, truth and honesty, faith and righteousness in service to the people and the nation.

The organization also prayed for Nigeria’s security agencies to be strengthened in their resolve to combat terrorism, insecurity, and other evils against the country and its people.
