CITAD trains youths on transforming tech ideas into businesses

The Center for Information Technology and Development (CITAD) has initiated a training program aimed at equipping 30 youths with the skills to turn their technological ideas into successful ventures.

Engineer Yunusa Zakari Yau, the Executive Director of CITAD, revealed this significant development during an interaction with journalists in Kano today (Wednesday).

He underscored the untapped potential within communities, wherein talented young individuals harbor ideas capable of addressing pressing societal challenges.

Engineer Zakari emphasized that CITAD is dedicated to assisting those possessing exceptional skills and innovative concepts, but who lack the knowledge of how to effectively leverage them.

“The objective is to transform these individuals into potential employers and contributors to the labor market” Ya’u disclosed.

He stressed that ideas play a pivotal role in establishing a business. Post-training, participants will receive guidance on securing grants to translate their concepts into reality.

“Participants are encouraged to redouble their efforts to achieve our shared objectives and recognize their roles as future job creators,” Engineer Zakari urged.

Speaking earlier, CITAD’s Technical Officer, Muhammad Bello Yahaya, elaborated on the initiative, highlighting its focus on enlightening youth about the global trajectory of technology.

He asserted that the training centers around four key areas: E-health, financial technology, climate change, and E-agriculture.

Muhammad affirmed the enduring significance of tech startups in an era of advanced civilization. “As long as technology products or services remain in demand, tech startups will persist,” he stated.

Participants who spoke to Prime Time News Correspondent, Rabi Yusuf Gwamna and Sulaiman Musa Yusuf during the event, described the training as highly relevant.

They further pledged to apply the newfound knowledge to enhance their lives and commended CITAD for affording them the opportunity to showcase their talents.
