Kano State Deputy Governor, Comr. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, is extending a warm invitation to all citizens of Kano State, urging them to come out in large numbers on Sunday, January 14, 2024, to welcome Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf back to the state.

This follows the Supreme Court’s declaration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf as the duly elected Governor of Kano State.

Deputy Gwarzo, who made the call on Friday at his residence, surrounded by supporters and well-wishers upon his return from Abuja, expressed his excitement at the restoration of the NNPP-led administration’s mandate after legal challenges at both the tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

“The welcoming ceremony will be a grand one. In fact, it is a celebration and gratitude to Almighty Allah for restoring our mandate after losing both tribunal and appeal judgments,”

“The procession will commence at Ciromawa, Kura LGA, and move into Kano metropolis in a grand style” stated the Deputy Governor.

Deputy Governor Gwarzo emphasized the inclusive nature of the celebration, calling on all Kanawas, regardless of age or gender, to join in commemorating the victory of their votes.

“We are calling on all Kanawas both young and old, men and women to come out and celebrate the victory of their vote which wasn’t wasted in vain,” Gwarzo urged.

Expressing gratitude for the continuous support and prayers from the citizens of Kano state, the Deputy Governor assured that developmental projects have already commenced, with more to be unveiled as the administration embarks on its journey.

PRIME TIME NEWS reports that, this historic Supreme Court decision comes after months of legal saga. Recall In September 2023, a tribunal ruling sacked Governor Yusuf and declared Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the March 18th, 2023 elections.

This verdict was further upheld by the Court of Appeal in November. However, Friday’s Supreme Court ruling overturned these earlier decisions, definitively affirming Yusuf’s mandate as the rightful Governor of Kano.
