Concern Over FRCN Kaduna’s 2-Month Power Outage, Listeners Demand Action
Listeners of the FRCN Kaduna National Station have voiced their concern over the station’s prolonged power disconnection, which has left it off the air for nearly two months.
Residents from Ikara, Zaria, Kaduna, and Makarfi expressed their disappointment to our reporter, lamenting the absence of the station.
Musa Ibrahim Kofar Doka, one of the affected listeners, expressed his frustration at missing the station’s broadcasts. He urged for swift action to restore the station, emphasizing its critical role in promoting government policies and educating the public.
Another concerned listener, Hassan Tashar Yari, called on the federal government to take decisive steps to rehabilitate the station, describing the situation as unfortunate. He noted that this is the first time in about ten years that the station has been off the air for such an extended period.
Tashar Yari also appealed to the Arewa Consultative Forum and Northern elders to intervene to prevent the station from falling into total disrepair.
The disruption occurred when the Kaduna Electric Distribution Company disconnected the station from the national grid in both Jaji and Kaduna, severely impacting its operations.
Listeners are appealing to the federal government, through the Ministry of Information and National Orientation, to address the ongoing power supply issues to ensure the station’s vital services continue.
