Congress: Maikatako emerges Zamfara APC factional Chairman

Former Chairman of Senator Marafa-led faction of the APC Zamfara State chapter has emerged as the State Chairman as Abubakar ‘Yargaida emerged as party Secretary among the other 30 Executives and Ex-Officio been elected to run the affairs of the party in the next four years.

The congress which held in Tsafe local government area yesterday under the supervision of the party’s national supervising Committee Chaired by Abubakar Idi Muyi and Majinyawa as Secretary, has witnessed the participation of 5,124 delegates derived from both 147 wards with 32 delegates each and 30 delegates from the 14 local government areas of the state all in favor of the newly elected Executives.

Speaking shortly before the commencement of voting exercise at the congress, the Chairman of the supervising Committee from the headquarters of the APC, Abubakar Idi Muyi, said in the course of electing leaders that will lead the party, it is allowed to cast vote or arrive at concensus.

“All is needed was to ensure total respect for democracy through use of unanimous agreement on the eligibility of delegates right from the 147 wards and up to the level of 14 local government areas of the state, to make sure they are selected by the majority.

“The sustainability or otherwise of our party’s popularity is no doubt start exactly from congresses during which the competent but patriotic people that would lead the party were decided by the majority”, Muyi has stated.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Surajo Maikatako, called on the party members in the state to continue to remain peace-loving as his administration will embark on the party policies policies meant for protection of good images of the members.
