The Commissioner of Police Plateau State command, Bartholomew Nnamdi Onyeka, has appealed for continued support, cooperation and collaboration from all and sundry through giving useful and timely information to the police on activities of criminals for prompt action.
He made the appeal while briefing Journalists at the headquarters command in Jos on Friday.
The Commissioner who assumed office on Thursday, November forth, twenty-Twenty one, said his mission and vision would be “Plateau first” which means working hand in hand with the host communities to promote peace, security and safety of the state through dedication, commitment and professionalism.
According to Bartholomew Onyeka, he said having studied the peculiar security challenges of the state, he and his management team have commenced the review of the existing crime fighting strategies in order to Meet up with the challenges of the modern day policing.
He maintained that their strategies will also be an intelligence led community policing which transcends not just law enforcement to embrace human security and development, but necessarily require diverse expertise and whole community support.
The police Commissioner however assured members of the public that the police under his watch will discharge it’s responsibilities in line with the professional ethics of the force.
