By Na’im Sulaiman

The Dahiru Dawaki Foundation, renowned for its impactful humanitarian initiatives, has once again demonstrated its commitment to charitable giving by distributing rice, maize, and millet to 2,000 less privileged individuals and orphans in Itas community, Bauchi State.

For over two decades, the foundation has focused on alleviating poverty through food donations, ensuring vulnerable populations have access to essential nutrition.

These efforts have significantly improved the health and well-being of children and other at-risk groups, enhancing the overall quality of life in communities like Itas/Gadau.

The flag-off ceremony was led by two prominent philanthropists, Hajiya Yasmin Dahiru Dawaki and Hajiya Maryam Dahiru Dawaki (Mrs. Bichi), wife of Hon. Abubakar Kabir Abubakar, the Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation in the 10th National Assembly.

The event, held at the Itas District Head Palace, saw the presence of family members, community leaders, and well-wishers.

In her address, Mrs. Bichi expressed gratitude to Allah and her family, emphasizing the importance of supporting the less privileged:

“Today, my sister Yasmin and I are honored to officially flag off this food distribution in Itas, continuing a tradition we have upheld for 18 years. We pray this act benefits our late parents and brings relief to those in need. May Allah continue to guide and bless everyone involved.”

The event was met with overwhelming gratitude from beneficiaries, who prayed for the sisters’ continued success and the eternal peace of their late parents. The initiative serves as a reminder of the transformative power of charitable giving and the shared humanity it promotes.
