Dantata Backs Moves To Return Nigeria To Parliamentary System Of Govt.

Renowned Kano Businesses Mogul and former Parliamentarian, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, has endorsed moves to return Nigeria to the parliamentary system of Government.

Dantata made the commendation when he received some members of the House of Representatives led by the Minority Leader, Kingsley Chinda, who paid him a courtesy visit at his residence in Kano on Thursday.

He commended the 60 members of the House of Representatives for sponsoring the Bill for the return of Nigeria to parliamentary system of government.

He said the parliamentary system of government is the best for the nation as it is cheaper than the presidential system of government that Nigeria is now operating.

The nonagenarian also said the parliamentary system is less cumbersome to operate when compared to the present presidential system of government.

“Obviously, the Parliamentary system of government is the best for this country because it is much cheaper and less cumbersome than the presidential system of government.

“The presidential system of government is cumbersome and difficult to manage,” he said, describing the moves to return the nation to parliamentary system as a welcome development.

Earlier, the Leader of the delegation and Minority Leader of the House, said the members who sponsored the Bill on Nigeria’s return to parliamentary system remain committed in addition to being sincere in pursuing the project.

According to Chinda, the return of Nigeria to parliamentary system is in the best interest of Nigeria and Nigerians.

He thanked the business mogul for giving them useful advice and inputs, adding that they would continue to draw from his knowledge and wealth of experience.

“We cannot thank you enough for your contribution on the issue, but we will continue to tap from your knowledge and wealth of experience,” he said.
