Education is the Bedrock of Any Meaningful Development – Kaduna Senator

From Abdullahi Alhassan, Kaduna

Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has emphasized that education is the foundation for any meaningful development. He called for increased attention and investment in the sector.

The Senator made this statement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 101 smart classroom blocks across his senatorial zone.

“These are modern classrooms where teachers can teach remotely from Abuja, while the pupils, equipped with computers, participate from their classrooms,” he explained. “This kind of setup is already in place in cities like Abuja and Lagos. We have provided pupils with school bags containing mini-computers to make learning easier. Primary and secondary education require a strong foundation. With this background, students can succeed anywhere, whether in Nigeria or abroad.”

Senator Usman further highlighted that these classrooms will be equipped to modern standards, complete with advanced teaching and learning aids for both teachers and students. As the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Primary and Secondary Education, he noted that teachers will be able to conduct classes remotely via computers, and training for this initiative is already underway in Abuja.

“These classrooms are part of a nationwide initiative, with only 50 available across the country. However, due to our dedication to improving education, we have secured three of them for our district,” he added.

The Senator urged parents to prioritize their children’s education, calling it the best gift and asset they can offer. “Without education, no meaningful development can be achieved,” he stressed.

In their separate remarks, the village head of Unguwar Dosa in Kaduna North Local Government Area, the ward head in Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru Local Government Area, and the headteacher of Rigachikun Primary School in Igabi Local Government Area expressed their gratitude to the Senator, reaffirming that education is indeed the key to success in life.
