Eid-el Kabir: Kano Deputy Governor celebrates with boss, Muslim faithful
The Deputy Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Aminu Gwarzo, has congratulated Governor Abba Yusuf and the Muslim faithful as they join their counterparts all over the world to mark the Eid-el Kabir festival.
A statement by his Press Secretary, Malam Ibrahim Shuaibu, quoted Gwarzo as urging Kano residents to be guided by the faith, perseverance and obedience demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
The statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria(NAN), on Wednesday in Kano, further quoted him as saying that the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son, Ishmael, as an act of obedience to God’s command, was the greatest act of obeisance.
He urged Nigerians to imbibe such obeisance to promote national unity and economic growth.
Gwarzo called on the believers of Islamic religion to use the festival to offer prayers to leaders to enable them lead Nigeria aright.
He urged Kano State residents to support the administration of Governor Kabir which was “committed to implementing policies and programmes that will better the lots of the people”.
“We must support government to attain the desired goal of restoring the lost glory of our state,” he was quoted as saying.
The Deputy Governor, who is the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, restated the administration’s pledge to lead the state on the path to greatness.
“Governor Kabir wants to create the right atmosphere for businesses and investment to thrive; he wants to make life more meaningful to the people. We must support him,” the statement further quoted Gwarzo as saying. (NAN)
