The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, has celebrated Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General, Media and Publicity to the Kano State Governor, alongside ten other distinguished individuals for their outstanding contributions to community service in Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area.
The recognition took place during the Emir’s two-day rangadi (royal tour) of Dawakin Tofa, where he engaged directly with local residents, traditional leaders, and youth groups to strengthen ties and address pressing social challenges.
The other honourees include Alhaji Ibrahim Danyaro, Alhaji Kamal Abubakar, Barrister Saleh Shehu Kuidawa, Sheikh Hafiz Ibrahim Nyass, Sheikh Salisu Zakariyya, Alhaji Danliti YY Dawanau, Hon. Hamza Ibrahim Baba, Ismail Sani Mukhtar, CSP Isa Bello Audi, and Sheikh Zangina Chedi.
In a passionate address, Emir Sanusi delivered a stern warning against the growing menace of drug abuse, phone snatching, and land grabbing, describing them as serious threats to peace and development.
He called on young people to reject these vices and focus instead on education, discipline, and hard work.
“Drugs and crime do not only destroy individual futures—they destroy families and the very fabric of our communities,” the Emir declared, drawing applause from the gathered crowd.
He also emphasized the critical role of responsible parenting in shaping morally upright and productive citizens, urging parents to devote more attention to the proper upbringing of their children.
Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government, Hon. Anas Mukhtar Bello, noted that the recognition was purely based on the awardees’ selfless service to the community and their tireless efforts to bring about positive change.
The visit, rich in cultural pageantry and traditional hospitality, underscored Emir Sanusi’s commitment to social reform and community development across the emirate.
