Such contracts, the legislator said, would include sewing uniforms for institutions with uniformed personnel to enable the Tailors earn more money for their labour.
Taking into cognisance the fact that Tailoring work solely relies on electricity, the Lawmaker said he had taken steps to ensure improved power supply to the area.
Part of the measures he said, was a fruitful meeting he held with the Kano Electricity Distribution Company(KEDCO) and the State Rural Electricity Board, the result of which he said was an improved power supply to the constituency.
He said he had also met with the Traditional Ruler of the area and it was resolved that Ward Heads would be involved, and that a Committee would be set up at each Ward which would ensure the monthly payment of electricity bill by each Tailoring shop.
On his part,Shehu said,he would be topping the Tailors’ monthly payment with a certain amount every four months in order to settle KEDCO bills,in fulfillment of the agreement reached with the electricity company.
