As part of effort to achieve the agreement signed between the two parties, Jigawa state government in collaboration with Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO) through ECP PERL, inaugurated advisory committee on Jigawa Mutual Accountability Framework (JiMAF).
The advisory committee which was inaugurated by the commissioner ministry of Budget and economic planning Alhaji Babangida Umar Gantsa, comprised various active Civil Society Organizations and other relevant stakeholders whom serve as representative of Jigawa citizens.
The Commissioner who was represented by the Director Monitoring and Evaluation as well as head of donors coordination Alhaji Idris Musa Aujara urged the members of the committee to work hand in hand with relevant authorities in government for factual and comprehensive findings before sharing.
The director also assured all support and cooperation from the government, urging the committee to shun any bias while conducting their duties, as well as to put Jigawa and it’s citizens first and above any personal interest.
While making her remarks before the inauguration, the State Partnership Facilitator of PERL-ECP, Hajiya Hajara Sulaiman said, the committee will promote and influence the adoption and continuation of JiMAF.
She added that, the committee will also ensure and sustain implementation and promotion of Jigawa Mutual Accountability Framework through citizens-driven advocacies, fostering transparency, Accountability and inclusive development.
Also speaking on behalf of the members committee, the chairman Network for Jigawa Civil Society (Netjic) comrade Mustapha Umar Babura promised to follow due process and ensure justice, transparency in the implementation and promotion Jigawa Mutual Accountability Framework.
He then called on government and other partners to continue cooperating with Civil Society Organizations in the state for better Jigawa state.
