The Federal Government has initiated the establishment of vocational schools across Nigeria, aiming to equip youths with sustainable life skills and bolster self-reliance.
Minister of Education, Professor Tahir Mamman, revealed this during an inspection of a vocational training center at General Murtala Mohammed College in Yola, Adamawa state capital.
Expressing satisfaction with the project’s progress, Prof. Tahir emphasized the importance of such interventions in securing the future of Nigerian youths by providing technical skills for job creation.
“The Ahmed Bola Tinubu administration is keen on integrating technical skills acquisition with traditional learning, ensuring students acquire skills beyond literacy and numeracy,” Prof. Tahir stated. He emphasized that this initiative aims to provide quality education while merging knowledge with practical skills.
He underscored the government’s commitment to education, noting recent efforts to revamp the sector, including developing a comprehensive roadmap, which has been adopted by the National Council on Education.
Architect Musa Goni, the project contractor, confirmed the N200 million project’s 60% completion and assured adherence to stipulated timelines and specifications.
