Zamfara State Government has recorded exactly 184,000 breadwinners of households that have been internally displaced by the fierce waves of incessant attacks by the dangerous groups of recalcitrant armed bandits in the state.

This was disclosed by the State Commissioner of Humanitarian Services, Hajiya Fa’ika while receiving donations of food items and other relief materials from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian meant to cushion the hardship the internally displaced persons were suffering.

The Commissioner further stated that, despite Zamfara has for long suffering ungodly actions in the hands of bandits and other high profile criminals, there has been other naturally witnessed disasters caused by floods which devastated eleven local government areas making lives difficult even similar to that of man-made disasters.

“Urgent attention is in dire need to salvage our dear Zamfara State following number of disasters comprising naturals and man-made that bedevilled us by the right, left and center, therefore compelling my ministry to call for more and intensified assistance”, Fa’ika has stressed.

She further appealed to the President Buhari and the minister of humanitarian services, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, to for the sake of rescuing devastated lives of large number of displaced persons, review and increase the level of the donated assistance.

Handing over the donations, humanitarian minister, Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, who was represented by her Special Adviser, Alhaji Musa Ahmad Bungudu, said the federal government would continue to assist until the situation is addressed.

The relief items received by the Commissioner include 100 bales of fairly used clothes, fourty jerricans of 25 litres of cooking oil and 120 25kg bags of rice to be distributed as assistance to the IGPs.
