Frustration Mounts as FRCN Kaduna Remains Silent for Two Months

A wave of disappointment and concern is sweeping through the loyal listeners of FRCN Kaduna, the national station that has been off air for an unprecedented two months.
Many fear the station, once a vibrant hub of news and information for the north, is now on the brink of becoming a relic of the past.
In Zaria, Mallam Mohammed Shitu, a long-time listener, expressed his deep sadness over the station’s silence. “I’ve been listening to FRCN Kaduna for years. The news, the programs, they were all a part of my daily life. Now, it’s just silence. It’s heartbreaking” he said.
Similar sentiments echoed in Funtua, where Alhassan Abubakar Unguwar Dahiru lamented the potential loss of a cultural and educational cornerstone.
“This station played a huge role in the development of the north. Their experienced staff enlightened and educated us with their programs. We can’t let it die like this” he said.
The frustration extends to Gusau, Zamfara State, where Mallam Usman Bakanike Damba compared the station’s current state to a death in the family. “We are mourning the loss of FRCN Kaduna,” he declared. “The federal government needs to take immediate action. This station deserves to be revived for the sake of its listeners across Nigeria and even West Africa.”
