Nollywood actress and politician Funke Akindele has deleted all her political-related posts on her Instagram page following her party’s defeat in the Lagos State gubernatorial election.
Akindele, who was the running mate to Abdulazeez Adediran, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, removed all her political engagements and campaign rally photos from her social media page.
The incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election with 762,134 votes, defeating the PDP candidate who scored 62,449 votes.
Akindele’s action has sparked reactions from her fans and followers, with many speculating that it was a move to distance herself from the political party’s loss.
