Members of the Islamic movement of Nigeria (Shi’ite),Yola branch has staged a solidarity procession in support of the global call for freedom for the Palestinians against the Israeli forces invasion in occupied Gaza.
Some major roads were temporarily blocked as the group moved in their numbers in the Adamawa state capital chanting freedom songs for the libration of the people of Palestine condemning Israeli government and it’s cohorts.
Leading the group on the major Atiku Abubakar road off Muhammad Mustapha way weekend, leader of group simply identified as Sheikh Waliq announced that what is happening with the people of Palestine is beyond human comprehension and need urgent attention to save the lives of innocent civilians been killed by the minute.
Waliq said as a group for the struggle to ensure Justice and fairness to all maintained that Israeli forces actions is tantamount to breaches of international laws which must attract punishment accordingly.
He stated that immediate permanent ceasefire and two states solution should be part of the resolutions for the people of Palestine noting that genocide is being committed before the very eyes of international communities.
Accordingly he charged those in the position of authority to ensure effective Justice is being served to those that deserves it lamenting the maltreatment mated on their movement where over 3000 of their members were allegedly killed in Kaduna some years ago.
Contacted on the development, spokesman of the Adamawa state police command,SP Suleiman Nguroje said the command is keenly monitoring the group’s activities .
Nguroje added that any action that will be a breach of law and peace in the state will be resisted with stiff resistance by the command.
Our Correspondent in Yola reported that the group attended the solidarity procession in their hundreds holding different placards with inscriptions reading”free Palestine”,”Enough is enough for genocide against Gaza” as well as “ceasefire and two states solution is the answer” among others.
