Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State on Wednesday paid a personal condolence visit to the Bauchi State Government, the family of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, and the Tijjaniya Movement over the demise of the renowned Islamic scholar last week.
In a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director-General Press and Media Affairs to the governor, Buni noted that earlier, a high-powered government delegation led by the Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chiroma Buba Mashio, had attended the funeral prayer for the late Sheikh in Bauchi.
Governor Buni, who was accompanied by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs and Other Matters, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, offered prayers for the repose of the cleric’s soul.
Describing the death as painful, Governor Buni said:
“Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi died at a time when his wise counsel and prayers for the nation were most needed. But that was his appointed time by our Creator.”
He further noted that the late Sheikh dedicated his entire life to the service of Islam.
“We pray to Almighty Allah to accept all his acts of worship, forgive his shortcomings, and grant him eternal rest in Aljannat Firdaus,” the governor prayed.
Governor Buni also prayed for Allah to grant the family of the deceased and members of the Tijjaniya Movement the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
He called on the followers of Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi and all Nigerians to continue to pray for Allah’s guidance upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other leaders for enhanced security, peace, and prosperity in the country.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Alhaji Masari, prayed for the repose of the soul of the late Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, describing him as a great Islamic scholar who would be dearly missed.
