Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State paid an unscheduled visit to ongoing projects in Damaturu, the state capital, including township roads and a health facility at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital.
The governor expressed his commitment to ensuring the quality and pace of work on the projects, which are aimed at improving transportation and socio-economic development in the communities.
He emphasized the importance of good roads for the success of the post-insurgency agenda and noted that the drainages would protect houses from annual floods.
Governor Buni commended the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Umaru Wakil Dudaye, for the progress made so far and charged him to ensure that all ongoing projects meet the required specifications and contractual agreements.
He also urged contractors to execute the projects according to the agreed-upon terms.
The Commissioner for Works assured the governor that his ministry is closely supervising all projects to ensure compliance with specifications.
He added that the government is currently executing additional 7 kilometers of road projects and 14 kilometers of concrete drainages in the Commissioner’s Quarters and Nasarawa areas of Damaturu metropolis.
At the College of Medical Sciences of the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital, the governor inspected the progress of work on the project and assured that the government would ensure its timely completion for the benefit of the people.
