Gov. Buni flags off construction of 34km Danchuwa – Jajere Road project

In a bid to improve the movement of goods and services, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State has kicked off the construction of the Danchuwa – Jajere 34 KM Road Project.

The governor made this announcement during a mammoth crowd gathering in Jajere town on Wednesday where he stated that the road project was long overdue and has been on the drawing board since 1999.

Governor Buni assured the people of Jajere and other benefiting communities that the road project would unveil and harness the rich agricultural, livestock, and other potentials that abound in the area, as well as improve socio-economic life in these communities.

The governor further disclosed that the road project would be handled by a reputable company, QUMECS Nig. Ltd., at the cost of Five Billion, Thirty-Two Million, Seven Hundred and Thirty-Two Thousand, Two Hundred and Eleven Naira, two kobo (N5,032,732, 211.02). The contractual agreement stipulated that the road project should be completed within 18 months.

Communities dwelling in the Danchuwa, Kolere, and Jajere axis’s of Fune as well as Potiskum Local Governments of Yobe State mobilized en masse to welcome the governor to their area. 

They expressed their gratitude to the government for fulfilling its pledge to construct the long-awaited road project, which would improve their livelihoods and ease the transportation of goods and services.
