Gov. Buni Honors Pledge: N100 Million Presented to 157 Damaturu Market Fire Victims

Following the devastating fire incident at the GSM Market in Damaturu, Yobe State, Governor Mai Mala Buni fulfilled his commitment by presenting a cheque of N100 million to the 157 victims affected by the blaze.

During the Governor’s visit to the site on Tuesday, an initial cash stimulus of N3 million was distributed through the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

Governor Buni, recognizing the severity of the situation, announced the substantial donation of N100 million and directed SEMA to swiftly assess and support the repair of the shops consumed by the fire.

The presentation ceremony for the N100 million cheque was conducted by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), along with the Chief of Staff (COS), Head of Service (HOS), and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce.

These officials, accompanied by other high-ranking government representatives, conveyed Governor Buni’s heartfelt sympathy and support to the victims.

Governor Buni, through his representatives, prayed for God’s intervention to replenish the losses suffered by the victims and reassured them of the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing their plight.

Ustaz Babagana Mallam Kyari, the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to Governor Buni, offered prayers for peace and God’s protection during the challenging times faced by the affected individuals.
