Contractors handling various projects in the state capital, Birnin Kebbi, have been commended by Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State.
This was contained in a statement signed by Yahaya Sarki, Special Adviser to Kebbi State Governor on Media and Publicity on Tuesday.
The governor made the commendation when he visited some key project sites being executed by his administration.
According to the statement, the projects include, the Birnin Kebbi Central Modern Motorpark project,the Ultra-Modern State Secretariat complex Gwadangwaji, ongoing construction of roads as well as facilities at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking at various project sites, the Governor commended the contractors for their dedication to ensuring high-quality work, specifically praising the site engineers for their diligence in maintaining project standards.
He said, “Don’t rush the work, make sure you do a quality job that can last for many years. You have impressed me, I promised to support our indigenous contractors’.
At Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, the governor expressed happiness with the facilities at the airport which were provided purposely for the inaugural flight of intending pilgrims from Nigeria to Saudi Arabia for 2024 Hajji exercise.
“I promise to ensure that pilgrims from Kebbi perform an excellent Hajji exercise this year,” he assured.
Responding, some of the contractors handling the Ultramodern Secretariat at Gwadangwaji, Eng.Manir Jega and Abubakar Zubairu appreciated the governor for his trust and conviction that their companies could execute quality jobs.
They assured the governor that the company would meet up with the contractual agreement in both period of work and quality job.
The former Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Saidu Usman Nasamu Dakingari, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Alhaji Yakubu Bala-Tafida, Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena,
State APC Chairman, Alhaji Abubakar Kana-Zuru,Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Shehu Muazu, Commissioner for Mines and Solid Minerals, Alhaji Haliru Muhammad-Wasagu, Permanent Secretaries and some politicians accompanied the Governor on the visit.
