Plateau state governor Caleb Mutfwang said his administration has procured fifteen state of the art man diesel buses to mitigate cost of intra – city travels.
Governor Mutfwang was Speaking during the unveiling and commissioning of the Tin city metro urban transportation initiative held at the old Government House chapel, Jos on Tuesday.
He said the system is an unwavering commitment to improve daily lives of the people of the state and to provide a respite from transportation challenges facing commuters.
Mutfwang while saying that the Tin city metro urban transportation initiative is more than a transportation project, described it as catalyst for community development.
The governor called on all stakeholders to champion the transformative impact and assured of the introduction of more initiatives that alleviates economic burdens as well as elevate quality of life for greater glory.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Transport said recently twenty Siena shuttle buses for Jos to Abuja routes were commissioned and plans are on train services.
General manager of Plateau riders Transport services, Samuel Gwott, thanked Governor Caleb Mutfwang for making the service a top priority for commuters in the state.
He said the buses are affordable using the cards making it cashless and has friendly features for people living with disabilities.
Our correspondent reports that there were good will messages from some stakeholders at the occasion, former Governor Jonah Jang, Gbong Jos and Chairman traditional Councils, Jacob Buba, Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gabriel Dewan amongst others.
