Gov Namadi Employs 5,588 Permanent Teachers, Extension Workers in Jigawa

The Jigawa state governor Malam Umar Namadi has presented offer of permanent employment to 5,588 J-teach teachers, health workers Agricultural extension workers in the state.

The new employees that include 3,143 permanent Teachers while other include both health workers and agricultural extension workers to work in the schools and health facilities across the state.

Speaking during a grand occasion for the distribution of the employment offer held at Malam Aminu Kano Triangle Dutse, Governor Namadi said, the mass employment was part of plan for the successful implementation of his 12 point agenda.

He explained that there is no government policy that can be fully and effectively implemented without enough train and capable manpower.

“Our 12 point agenda designed to make Jigawa state great included access to quality education for all child in state, and to achieve this we must bridge our teachers gap, that is way we employed this number now and we will continue doing this untill we have teacher in every classroom.”

“In pursuing our goals on access to basic healthcare services for all citizens, tackling high rate of child and maternal mortality, creating healthy and happy society , this made us to send over 120 students to study medicine in Cyprus and India, launched construction of N5.5 billion School of Nursing and Midwifery and now issued offer of employment to 1,005 health workers”, including doctors and junior staff”.

“Agriculture is one of the key sector in our 12 point agenda, tergeted to provide employment,Jobs creation, poverty eradication, food security, building resilient and sustainable economic development ”

“Promoting use of modern farming technology and making modern farm implements available and affordable to farmers are very indispensable in achieving the goals and in view of that today we are presenting offer of employment to 1,440 temporary Agricultural extension workers under our program known as J-Agro” Governor Namadi stated.

Speaking at the occasion the chairman Jigawa state Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Haruna Musa said, the teachers who served as temporary teachers for two years in the state were observed to permanent and pensionable after passing examination.

“All the 3,143 teachers were recruited base on merit and we are assured that, all of them are capable and they will give sound knowledge to our children.” The chairman stated

He however told the newly recruited staffs that, the board will keep monitoring them and will not be hesitant to sack any one who failed to abide by the employment rules as stated in the offer of employment.
