Gov. Yusuf Fulfills Promise to Women in Kano State Through Major Healthcare Interventions – Dr. Nagoda

The Executive Secretary kano State Hospitals Management Board Dr Mansur Mudi Nagoda have distributed free maternity and A&E commodities worth N60 million naira to the state owned facilities as a major intervention to the people.

This is contained in a statement on Thursday by Samira Usman, Public Relation Officer, Kano hospital management board.

“In a symbolic distribution carried out at the DMCSA store today Thursday, Dr Nagoda explained that due to the increase in demand , the Executive Governor of Kano State Alh Abba Kabir Yusuf have increased the purchase of the commodities worth N60Million naira monthly and also N5million items as intervention from Khetfund.”

The Executive Secretary further said, items have been packed into packages for both normal delivery and cesarian section. Each pack contains items needed to perform both tasks on expectant mothers. A utilisation register has been provided in each facility to checkmate the utilisation of all commodities supplied to the facility.

The statement revealed that, in the month of July, the Hospital Management Board recorded a total number of 4,892 deliveries, 29,057 antenatal care, 493 caesarean section and 4,805 live birth all on a free services.

Distributing the items, the Hon. commissioner Kano State Ministry of Health Dr Abubakar Labaran yusuf reiterated the governments commitments in ensuring it meets the demand of the people and reducing high mortality rate in women.

Murtala Muhammad specialist hospital, kwankwaso Cottage Hospital, Ajingi Cottage hospital secondary Health facilities while Kabuga and Jaen primary Health care were the facilities that participated in the symbolic distribution. Subsequently other Health facilities are expected to visit store 10 at DMCSA to collect their Hospital items.

Dr Nagoda then called on the CMDs/Zonal Directors to ensure delivery and CS are free and duly covered by the provision as the Executive supervision team including heads of MDA under ministry of Health deployed for scrutiny of utilization registers. Complaints should be forwarded through servicom numbers provided at each Hospital.
