Governor of Kano State Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the purchase of free service drugs and lab consumables for Hasiya Bayero Paediatrics hospital as part of his promise to reach out to the less privileged in the society.
This was made known in a statement by Samira Suleiman, Public Relation Officer, Kano state Hospitals Management Board on Friday
According to her, at the visitation of the supervision team to Hasiya Bayero paediatrics hospital, the team reported that the facility was very neat, management responding to challenges but meet the dispensary empty, no drugs and other consumables. This development prompted the governor to approve the immediate purchase of the items needed worth millions of naira.
Another facility visited at night which also falls in the same zone with Hasiya Bayero was Imam Wali Hospital. The team found a very clean compound, good staffing, with a satisfactory complement from patients. The major issues that where encountered where lack of enough light with just few attendants.
Dr Nagoda ordered an immediate release of solar poles to the facility and also recruited 10 casual attendants to complement the effort of the management in facility.
Marmara maternity hospital also received the team at night which before the visit have already been earmarked to undergo a major reconstruction in other to meet up and serve as a standard maternity hospital with a 24hours health care service.
Kano State Hospitals Management Board have a total of 48 facilities distribution into 15 zone with Chief Medical Directors and Zonal Directors as heads of those facilities. “We shall be reporting zone by zone to the populace, this will be in line with the government agenda of revolutionizing heath sector, he added”
