Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has revealed that he is not a member of any political party at the moment and is only supporting candidates for elective positions regardless of their political parties in the upcoming 2023 general elections.
Dogara, who had previously defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), stated during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Wednesday that his support for candidates across party lines does not make him an “unstable character.”
He also disclosed that he has supported the aspiration of Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, who is the current APC governorship candidate in Bauchi State, and has candidates for House of Assembly, Senatorial and House of Representatives positions in his constituency.
However, he has opposed the re-election of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed of the PDP, and expressed his support for the APC governorship candidate in the upcoming March 18 election in Bauchi State.
