IHRC Commends Kano Police Chief, CP Gumel for Effective Service Delivery

In a recent statement, the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) Nigeria Chapter expressed admiration for the exemplary performance of Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Gumel, in upholding security and protecting human rights.

In a statement released to newsmen by the Commission’s Country Director, Ambassador Abdullahi Bakoji Adamu, IHRC highlighted CP Gumel’s passionate and professional approach to his duties, noting the positive impact on the safety of Kano State residents.

“The commissioner’s dedication to combating crime has contributed significantly to the protection of citizens’ human rights” Bakoji revealed.

The commission specifically commended CP Gumel for successfully addressing a serious security threat in Gezawa, emphasizing the crucial role played by the police force in maintaining public safety.

Another remarkable achievement in the statement was the swift rescue of 10 children who had fallen victim to human trafficking. “CP Gumel’s commitment to intelligence gathering stood out as a vital tool for preventing and addressing criminal activities” he stated.

The IHRC acknowledged CP Gumel’s initiative in establishing the Dragon Team Division, aimed at tackling the issues of drug abuse and phone snatching in the state.

Bakoji however, assured the Kano Police Chief of the IHRC’s unwavering support and extended prayers for the guidance and protection of CP Gumel in his ongoing efforts to maintain peace and security in Kano State.
