Insecurity: “Enough Is Enough, We Are Tired of Daily Killings” – Babba Mazoji Urges Appointees, APC Stakeholders to Act

By Abdullahi Muhammad Sheka

An elder statesman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State and former senatorial aspirant for the Funtua Zone, Honorable Zaharaddeen Babba Mazoji, has called on all appointees from Matazu/Musawa Constituency to urgently return to their communities and take decisive action to address the growing insecurity and severe hardship affecting the region.

Babba Mazoji expressed deep concern over the ongoing violence in the area, where people are forced to flee their homes due to daily killings. He urged the appointees and All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders, including Hon. Minister Hannatu Musawa, Hadiza Bala Usman, and former Senator Abu Ibrahim, to step up their efforts in addressing the worsening security situation.

“Our people in Musawa/Matazu are tired of the senseless killings of their sons and daughters. Many residents are fleeing their communities every day due to the insecurity,” Babba Mazoji said. He emphasized the importance of holding appointees accountable, particularly those who have seemingly abandoned their constituencies, leaving their families and communities in a state of misery.

Babba Mazoji reminded these officials of their duty to protect the lives and property of the people, stressing that the primary purpose of any government is the safety and security of its citizens. He lamented the current situation in Musawa/Matazu, where innocent people are being slaughtered daily, calling it a violation of their basic rights.

“We say enough is enough. We demand action from our appointees, stakeholders, and security agencies. We have heard enough promises without any follow-up. What we need now is an end to the massacre of our people,” he declared.

Babba Mazoji did, however, express appreciation for the efforts of Governor Dr. Umar Dikko Radda in addressing insecurity in Katsina State, calling for more support to enhance these efforts. He also praised the Member representing Musawa/Matazu Federal Constituency for his timely efforts in developing the local area.

Touching on the issue of unemployment, Mazoji acknowledged the contributions of certain individuals, such as the Chief Librarian of Federal University Dutsinma, for offering employment opportunities to local youths. He commended the federal constituency representative for addressing the unemployment crisis and urged other appointees, including Minister Hannatu Musawa, Hadiza Bala Usman, and Abu Ibrahim, to follow suit.

Musawa/Matazu constituency, Mazoji noted, is blessed with many prominent figures, including former Senator Abu Ibrahim, the wife of the Katsina State Governor, Minister Hannatu Musawa, and Hadiza Bala Usman. He called on these dignitaries to contribute meaningfully toward resolving the issues of insecurity and unemployment plaguing the region.

Mazoji also urged the Federal Government to deploy additional security personnel to the area and ensure their welfare is adequately addressed to enable them to perform their duties effectively.

“In conclusion, we urge all stakeholders and politicians to put the interests of our people above personal gain. They should see themselves as agents of unity and national cohesion, not as instruments of division,” Mazoji stated.
