Kano State Government is to establish a Security Trust Fund to check criminal activities in the state,Governor Abba Yusuf has said.
Yusuf disclosed this while speaking with newsmen during this year’s Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration in Kano on Monday.
“We are inviting eminent Kano personalities to come and help us establish this Security Trust Fund that will allow us to keep Kano and its environs safe and secure,” he said.
The governor said the Trust Fund would be used to keep Kano peaceful and provide the youths with the required Jobs that would take them away from all forms of social vices.
“We are determined to ensure that Kano remains peaceful and safe, and as such, my Government will leave no stone unturned to actualize this noble dream,” he said.
On the families of the fallen heroes, Yusuf said that his Government had a special concern for their welfare, “that was why when we were distributing palliatives we directed that they should be included.”
“I told the Palliatives Distribution Committee that the families of soldiers and other Security Agencies whose loved ones are no longer alive to be given special package and they have done so,” he said.
The governor promised that his administration would partner with all Security Agencies in the State to maintain the peace being enjoyed in the state.
The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, was among hundreds of dignitaries who witnessed the laying of the wreath at the Fallen Heroes Centre located on Zaria Road on the outskirts of the city.
