Islamic Groups In Kano Rally In Support of Palestine
Members of different Islamic groups in Kano, held a rally on Saturday to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and condemn the ongoing violence in Gaza.
The rally, organized by a group called “Palestine Sympathizers,” brought together members of the Izala, Shi’a, Tijjaniya, and Qadiryya sects.
The participants called for an end to the conflict and expressed their outrage at the Israeli airstrikes that have killed over 100 people in Gaza since the expiration of a temporary ceasefire on Friday.
“We are gathered here today to show our support for the Palestinian people and to condemn the Israeli aggression against them,” said Sheikh Habib Malam Yalo, one of the organizers of the rally.
“We call on the international community to take urgent action to stop the violence and to hold Israel accountable for its crimes,” he added.
Other speakers at the rally also called for Muslim unity and urged the Nigerian government to provide support to the Palestinians.
“We must stand united against this injustice,” said Sheikh Ya’u Dodo, another Islamic cleric who spoke at the event.
“We must also do everything we can to help our Palestinian brothers and sisters,” he added.
