Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined millions of well-wishers in celebrating Nigerian women and their global counterparts as the world marks the 2025 International Women’s Day.

In a goodwill message, signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs Gyang Bere, Governor Mutfwang saluted the courage, resilience, and determination of Nigerian women, whose impact extends far beyond their families into public service, governance, business, and other key sectors.

He acknowledged that women often bear the brunt of society’s challenges, particularly the climate crisis, and called for collective action to address these pressing issues.

The Governor emphasized that the 2025 International Women’s Day theme, “Accelerate Action,” underscores the need for inclusive decision-making at all levels and urgent interventions to combat gender-based violence, child labor, and sexual abuse.

“I have unwavering confidence in the girl child and the Nigerian woman. The future belongs to them. I believe in their strength, their abilities, and their vital role in our nation’s development. As a leader, I remain committed to supporting and empowering them to fulfill their aspirations,” he stated.

Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to promoting women’s participation in governance, recognizing their integrity, competence, and excellence in leadership and resource management.

He highlighted his deliberate inclusion of women in key positions within his government as part of efforts to actualize the 35% Affirmative Action for women’s representation.

On behalf of the government and people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang extended his heartfelt congratulations to Plateau women and their counterparts across Nigeria and beyond, praying for strength, wisdom, and the resolve to build a better society for all.
